How to create custom Appointment Reminder SMS Messages (SMS Configuration)

Zedmed has the ability to customise SMS Appointment Reminder messages and allows users to configure messages to be sent for different appointment types.

Create a Customised Message for All Appointments

  • Navigate to the Management Tab → Practice Setup → SMS Configuration.

  • Select the branch (if applicable) from the Branch pop-up menu

  • The SMS Reminder Message for “All” appointments is displayed. To customise the message, edit the text.

  • You also have the ability to insert the available Merge Fields from the Insert Merge Field pop-up menu. These fields will automatically populate the appropriate information for each appointment type.

  • The Reset To Zedmed Message button will reset back to the default message.

Create a Customised Message for an Appointment Type

  • Click on the Add Message button

  • Select the Appointment Type from the pop-menu

  • The Appointment Type will appear in the sidebar. To customise the message, edit the text and insert the appropriate Merge Fields as required.

Delete a Customised Message

  • Select the Appointment Type

  • Click on the Delete Message button

Any appointment types that don't have a customised message will automatically use the SMS Reminder Message for the “All” Appointment Type.

If using multiple branches, editing the SMS Reminder Message for one branch will not impact any other branches. These need to be updated individually.

The same applies when customising the reminder messages for individual appointment types. A message will need to be added for each appointment type under each branch.
